What to Expect

First Visit

At your complimentary screening and consultation appointment, you will be given a clinical evaluation of your teeth and jaws. If it is determined that you are in need of orthodontic treatment, a diagnostic records appointment will be recommended to determine the appropriate treatment plan.

Diagnostic Records

During a diagnostic record appointment, you can expect the following:

  • Clinical examination by a licensed dentist
  • Plaster model of your teeth
  • Photos of your face and teeth
  • X-Rays of your facial bone and teeth structure

All this information, along with your medical and dental history, is used to develop a custom treatment plan.
After the doctor has evaluated your records, our office team will discuss your treatment plan with you in detail including the approximate duration of treatment and cost for your orthodontic case.

Direct Bond

The appointment to place your appliances (braces, expanders, arch wires, etc.) usually takes from one to two hours depending on patient cooperation.

Treatment Appointments

If you take good care of your braces; eat the proper foods, maintain good oral hygiene, you should be able to stay on your target treatment schedule and see the doctor at regular intervals 4 to 8 weeks apart for an adjustment. Each visit takes typically takes between  15 to 45 minutes.

Debond

The doctor will use a special tool to simply "pop" the bracket right off and you can be finished in as quick as ten minutes. The dental assistant will clean off any excess glue and polish your teeth. You will be on your way out the door and licking your teeth thinking back to "when you had braces".
